A Boy out of Time update

Posted by dbmacks in Oct 25, 2011, under Creation, General, Literature, People, Science, Teen Fiction

Somehow Amazon understood that I was the author of “Captured in Atlantis”, but failed to understand that I was the author of “A Boy out of Time”. Hopefully we have that all settled now and the Kindle version of  book 1 will be out this week.

Is Creation True, Part 1

Posted by dbmacks in Aug 19, 2011, under Creation, General, Literature, Science

Is Creation true?

The current arguments have been whether or not things happened by Creation or Evolution. Each side says the other is wrong and they both dig in and defend their stance. If you look at each with an open mind, they appear to have valid arguments. And, they both have valid arguments against the other side. Maybe the real question is does it matter? We are here. How ever we got here is so far in the past, the bigger question is “Who cares?”

The real issue is if every thing came as a result of Creation, that means there must be a Creator. If everything is by accident, then what happens when we die? It really gets down to was there some being that created all of this and there is something after we die or when I die, I just cease to exist.

A few of the arguments against Evolution are:

  1. There have been many false findings that are still being treated like they are true and are used as part of their argument.
  2. The amount of time needed for Evolution to happen is enormous and continues to get longer each decade.
  3. What we define as life is an accident.

A few of the arguments against Creation are:

  1. They are a bunch of religious nuts that have no science behind them.
  2. They believe in the fantasy of “Intelligent Design.”
  3. It is an argument against reason.
  4. Creationist have “created” their arguments and proofs.

Both have men of schooling. Both have good arguments for why they stand where they do. Both are very quick to attack the other.

Both have to look at what they “believe” to be right and make their determinations.

Unfortunately they are both so against each other that they both miss important information. They both argue with strong emotion. In the end they both have to take what they believe the evidence shows and make a statement about it.

In this writing I have set the stage for future blogs. I welcome comments and questions. But, if you will look closely at the blog you will not that I have not made a determination as to which I believe, nor have I yet answered the question posed at the start.

*The books I have written, (found at www.thetimetwins.com) are works of fiction. They are there to make you think. I hope you will read them and enjoy the stories.

Carrying Weights

Posted by dbmacks in Aug 19, 2011, under General, Literature, People

In my stories there is loss. For Ben there is the loss of his sister, the loss of his safe environment for Washington D.C. He responds to that loss by drawing inward. He closes up and doesn’t share what is going on with his parents. He blames himself for his sister’s death, even though it wasn’t his fault. He thinks the bad things that are happening to him are a result of his sister’s death.

Have you experienced bad things in your life and blamed yourself even if you weren’t to blame? Have you thought that things happen to you because you deserve it? That is what Ben was doing. It took his parents, friends and uncle to reset him. It wasn’t until it came out into the open that Ben was able to get help to deal with what was going on on the inside.

Today, if you are dealing with internal things that are too heavy for you, share them with someone you trust. You too will find that by doing this the burden, issue, guilt, or what ever will be easier to handle.

Book 2 delayed

Posted by dbmacks in Jul 30, 2011, under Uncategorized

The first copy of Book 2 was supposed to be to me last week. The printer sent it to the publisher instead of to me. They have forwarded it and I am trying to wait patiently.

I think my readers will enjoy Book 2, but for me it was a very difficult book to write. There is a lot of excitement and adventure in it, but it was very stubborn getting on paper.  It should be approved in a day or so and then it will be for sale.

Thanks for your patience.

Posted by dbmacks in Jul 21, 2011, under Atlantis, Creation, General, Literature, Teen Fiction

It has been a long time coming, but book 2 of The Time Twins is here. You will be able to order it on the web site (www.thetimetwins.com) on Friday. There were many delays, but it went into creating a better story.  I hop you enjoy it.

Ben and Seth thought their adventure earlier in the summer was over. They never expected that some of the things that happened would cause the need to go back.

Seth is having a hard time adjusting to our world and will have to face new fears and things he had never dreamt of.

Order your copy of Captured in Atlantis this week.

Site additions

Posted by dbmacks in May 12, 2011, under Uncategorized

Have made changes to the web site. If you are viewing this post from the web site, you are now doing it inside the web site.
After lots of searching, I found out that through Xara Web Designer Pro 7 I can embed websites right inside mine.
I am working on a writing web site too. It will be added to the Time Twins web site.
